Overview
It is the main national team competition for Sud America rugby nations. Argentina won every edition but in 1981 when it did not partecipate. On many occasions it partecipate with the team of Jaguares / Argentina XV.
Between 2014 and 2017 Argentina did not play the tournament, playing a new Sud America Rugby Cup against the two best teams in previous year Sudamericano.
