Courage League - Division 2 1987/88

Overview
It was the first season of the new National League system. The teams involved were Merit Table B teams with Waterloo, being the best during previous season, replaced by London Scottish, the worst in Merit Table A.

There were no fixed fixtures so clubs had to arrange their own (to a minimum of ten out of eleven opponents, only one game against each club could count).
Points were awarded as follows: 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss.
The 2 best teams in the table were promoted to National League 1. There were no relegatons to National League 3.

The league was sponsored by Courage Brewery.
